Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 31, 2026

Mintr ("we," "us") is a stock-rating and portfolio-tracking tool at compass.mintr.com. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled. It's written in plain language rather than legal boilerplate — if anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile info (name, profile picture) that Google shares as part of sign-in. If you sign in with an email code instead, we receive the email address you provide and send a one-time verification code to it.

App data you create. Portfolio holdings, watchlist entries, tags, and preferences (theme, view mode, investment horizon) you enter into Mintr are stored in our database, tied to your account, so they're there the next time you sign in.

Brokerage data (optional, via Plaid). If you choose to connect a real brokerage account, we use Plaid to do so. Plaid shares your account holdings and transaction history with us so Mintr can build and rate your actual portfolio. We never see your brokerage login credentials — Plaid handles that step directly and only passes us a secure access token, which is stored on our servers and never exposed to your browser or anyone else. You can find Plaid's own privacy practices at the link above.

Local device data. Some preferences and basic usage counters (which features you use, to help us improve the product) are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate Mintr: authenticate you, save and display your portfolio and ratings, and power MintAI search answers about your own data and public market data. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

About MintAI

MintAI is an AI-assisted search feature. It answers questions using your own account data (e.g., your portfolio) combined with public market data. It is informational only — it does not execute trades, does not have access to your brokerage credentials, and is designed to never give personalized buy/sell recommendations.

Third-party services we rely on

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on their end.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the details below.

Security

Your account data is protected by row-level access controls so that only you can read or write your own data. Sensitive credentials, like Plaid access tokens, are stored server-side only and are never sent to or accessible from the browser.

Children's privacy

Mintr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Mintr evolves. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
